Response to Intervention (RTI)
Georgia’s Tiered System of Supports for Students (Georgia’s MTSS) is a framework that integrates assessment and intervention within a school-wide, multi-level prevention system to maximize student achievement and reduce behavioral problems. In Georgia, a three-tiered prevention system, based in the general education classroom guides teachers and leaders to routinely implement a strong and rigorous standards-based learning environment. All students participate in general education learning. Students requiring interventions to meet individual learning expectations will receive support through a systematic and purposeful process also known as Response to Intervention or RTI. RTI is embedded within Georgia’s Tiered System of Supports for Students. The number of students requiring interventions will decrease as the level of intensity of the intervention increases. |
Lumpkin County is Committed to Student Success
As a part of LCHS's ongoing commitment to the academic success for students, Lumpkin County High School has a Student Success Team (SST) which includes: parents, students, counselors and teachers. This team will meet to discuss how to best provide academic support including enrichment and/or remediation opportunities to promote academic success for students. These Success teams, led by Jospeh Jones, Graduation Coach, diligently monitor the progress of every student at LCHS. Students who demonstrate a possible gap in their academic achievement in one or more of these areas: Academic Progress, Discipline or Behavior Issues in the classroom, Attendance Issues may benefit from the MTSS process. |
